Scott Faber

My name is Scott Faber and volleyball is my passion. It started in high school after getting cut from my high school basketball team for being too short of all things (my shot wasn’t that great either) and a friend of mine said I should play volleyball. The rest is history. I played club for Seaside down in San Diego for 1 year and then walked on at Long Beach State. I was lucky enough to have a coach who took a real interest in me and made sure I would be successful. After 2 years of grueling work, I earned a scholarship. I learned what it meant to be a volleyball player, the hard work, the commitment and what it means to be a teammate From a walk on in 1995 to the starting middle in the 1999 NCAA Championship game, I learned that with dedication and hard work, anything is possible.

I believe in positivity with accountability. I don’t care about the mistake, I care about fixing it and not repeating the same mistakes. I believe that there is a time to talk about it but when you hit the floor, it’s time to be about it. There is no greater feeling in sports than giving it all you have and seeing it pay off. That’s what I want our student athletes to feel. I believe you can accomplish anything if you have the right support and that’s what we are, a support system. I believe in putting the girls first and the rest will fall into place.

Volleyball has given me everything, a wonderful wife and two beautiful little girls, a great career and a group of friends I couldn’t get by without. Now, it’s time to give back, that’s why I do what I do. GO SVVC!!

Jenna Matheson

Hi my name is Jenna Matheson and I’m so excited to be assistant coaching for the Sierra Vista 13’s team this year! This will be my third year coaching for Sierra Vista though it will be my first time helping with the 13’s team. I recently graduated from Union Mine high school and am currently a full time student at Folsom Lake college. Though I am taking a break from playing this year, I had previously played volleyball for 7 years including middle school, high school, and club volleyball. I hope everyone is ready to work hard, have fun, and have a great season!

Heather Perry

I have played volleyball for 10 years. I started in 5th grade and played club and  High school until college.  I graduated from Ponderosa High School in 2003 with a full ride volleyball scholarship to The University of Montana. I unfortunately only was able to play in college for one year due to a knee injury. After college I coached one year of club volleyball in Missoula Montana and was also an Assistant coach for girls Varsity High school team. I also helped assist with outdoor youth  rec volleyball team in Folsom last summer.

I am a mom of two beautiful daughters age 11 and 6. They keep me extremely busy and happy and I wouldn’t change it for anything.  I love being able to teach my daughters the love of sports and being a part of a team.Seeing young athletes learn the game of volleyball and improve each day is so motivating and exciting. The look on their faces and how happy they get after they master a skill is an amazing feeling and has made me want to become a coach.

Kathy Eckroth

My name is Kathy Eckroth and I’m very excited to be an assistant coach for the girls 12’s team this season. It’s been a few years since I’ve had the opportunity to coach and looking forward to working with the girls this season. My coaching philosophy can be summed up in a few words, learning, laughing, teamwork and positivity. I hope to work with the girls to develop skills and teamwork values that they can not only use in Volleyball but in all aspects of life. I am also a certified USA beach and indoor referee and hope to continue to learn all aspects of the game from all sides of the court.
